Goal: Barriers faced by small scale farmers to take advantages of Nkunganire are known and strategies to overcome them proposed to the  decision makers.

Specific Objectives:

  1. To identify opportunities and gaps related to Nkunganire program vis a vis to small scale farmers,
  2. To submit the recommendations towards responsive Nkunganire program vis a vis to different needs and priorities.

Location: Rulindo, Nyanza, Nyagatare, Nyaruguru & Nyamagabe.

Duration: January to November 2021

Target groups

Organization Focus
Farmers To discuss about opportunities they find and challenges existing in Nkunganire programme to access inputs
Agro-dealers, agro-inputs distributors and importers They will inform how the system work, the package it provide to the farmer, opportunities and challenges
Public institutions: RAB, MINAGRI, RCA, MINICOM Discussion will be around the programme itself, how designed, its targets, enforcement, regulation, status of implementation, available plans and strategies
Financial institutions To discusss about the available facilities to the small scale farmers and their intervention to facilitate accessibility to agro inputs.
Local CSOs Their intervention in agro inputs system, their package to facilitate/ strengthen the capacity of small scale farmers to access and afford agro inputs & available challenges
